Highlights of 2006 Service Pack 1

SP1 for the QuadriSpace products provides a number of enhancements, bug fixes and product improvements.

Enhanced BOM Tab

SP1 provides much better tools for working with list of parts and bill-of-materials inside the QuadriSpace environment. The BOM tab is now the best place to create and edit a BOM. The BOM can then be used within the document (using an Active Table), exported as a CSV file for use in Excel or other products

or as the foundation for call numbers added to snapshots.

Specifically the following capabilities have been added to the BOM tab:

• Enter custom header titles

• Add new columns directly to the BOM tab by creating a new field or using an existing meta-data field

• Resize column widths

• Inline editing of row fields

• Ability to override the meta-data used for a row

• Ability to create a new field from the BOM tab

Import Google SketchUp Files

SP1 includes the ability to import Google SketchUp SKP files created with the 3D model editing tool SketchUp. This importer includes support for components, groups, textures, materials and geometry.

Import OBJ Files

New ability to import Wavefront OBJ files. Includes support for geometry, materials and textures.

Improved Active Tables (Pages3D Only)

SP1 provides new options for working with Active tables.

- Added headers

- Added the ability to manually associate a part with a BOM entry

- Enter custom header names

Improved Active Text (Pages3D Only)

SP1 provides new options for working with Active text.

Other improvements

There are a number of significant improvements in SP1, some of these include:

• Added inline editing of meta-data in the "Notes Tab"

• Added inline editing of meta-data in the "BOM Tab"'

• Importing a template with Publisher3D will now immediately show the thumbnail when imported. (Publisher3D Only)

• Editing text now uses the page background color instead always using white. This allows you to see white text on a black background, for example.

• Added support for character and paragraph changes to active tables.

• Escape and a right-click menu can be used to exit from full-screen mode.

• Active text will automatically select the first view on a page.

• 3D lighting has been improved and better matches 3D PDF output

Bug Fixes

The SP1 release fixes the following problems:

• Fixed a problem that sometimes resulted when a part was rotated more than once

• Modified publishing image or movies to disable "large model" mode when 3d models are published

• Fixed flashing when active text and active tables were selected or interacted with

• Fixed a crash that sometimes resulted when a BOM was selected

• Resolved some update problems when using active text boxes.

• Full-screen mode now changes to "Zoom to fit" when activated.

• Fixed a problem with flashing and unresponsive text boxes when non-standard zoom level were selected or full-screen mode was activated.

• Fixed a problem when publishing a Flash movie using an "Auto" transition

• Table positions are now maintained through save and load

• Gradient backgrounds are now drawn correctly for Active Tables and Active Text
