Tutorial 2: Tight Integration of page design and 3D tools

All of the tools that are needed to create compelling and informative documents are contained within the QuadriSpace Pages3D user interface. Competitive products require users to switch between multiple programs.

1. Click on the Home Ribbon. The Edit Page Button is important when creating documents with QuadriSpace. When this is ON, you can click on text boxes to change the text or edit the position; also, you can click on the 3D view to resize or reposition the page layout of the 3D view.
2. Now click the Edit Page Button to turn off page editing. Now, click on the 3D view and drag the mouse to rotate the 3D object. You can select different 3D tools, such as pan, zoom or select, from the Viewpoint Ribbon Group.
3. Click on the Insert Ribbon. This ribbon includes the page design tools. For example, we might want to add a new text box to the document. To do this, click the Text Box Button and then drag a text box out in the lower right  hand corner. Type “Call for Pricing” into the text box. You can use the font color, size and other tools from the Insert Ribbon to modify properties.
4. Now, let’s quickly explore the 3D Tools. Turn OFF the Edit Page Button.
5. Click on the 3D View Ribbon. From this ribbon, we will change the render style of the 3D view. If the buttons in the Render Style ribbon group are inactive then you just need to click the 3D view on the page to activate the tools.
6. Select different options from the Render Style Group to affect the 3D view’s rendering.
7. More extensive 3D model editing tools are available from the Model Ribbon. We will discuss these tools in later sections.
