Tutorial 5: Share industry
standard 3D PDF documents
QuadriSpace
Pages3D provides the easiest way to create PDF documents with
embedded 3D models that allow the recipient to rotate pan and zoom
them with only Adobe Reader (8.0 or higher is required). In contrast
to Acrobat Professional Extended (that supports 3D), QuadriSpace is
an integrated authoring application, allows complete documents to be
authored from scratch, does not require JavaScript programming to
add interactive buttons, and natively supports parts lists and
step-by-step instructions.
- To create a 3D
PDF from this example document, select the Publish Ribbon.
- Click on
PDF to bring up the PDF Settings Dialog.
- Pages3D can
publish standard PDF document with high-resolution images of the
3D views, or fully interactive documents with embedded 3D objects.
Make sure that the checkbox next to “Publish Interactive 3D”
is on. Also, verify that “Include Illustration Markups” is
on as well.
- Pages3D
will also automatically create a set of Bookmarks for the
document. In this case, we want to add bookmarks to the PDF that
the user can click to activate any of the 3D illustrations that we
have added to the document. Make sure to check “3D
illustrations” in the Bookmarks group. Also, check
“Display Bookmarks automatically when document is
opened”.
- Now click
Create PDF to create the PDF.
- Once the PDF
is created, it should open automatically for your preview. You can
click the 3D view to activate it and then rotate, pan or zoom the
mode. Also, try bringing up the bookmarks panel and clicking the
bookmarks to select different illustrations for the 3D view to
display.

Share industry standard 3D PDF documents with everyone that has
Adobe Reader installed.
