Tutorial 7: Create Exploded Views without 3D CAD software

The ability to create exploded views without a seat of 3D CAD software is very powerful when creating documents with parts lists, or step-by-step instructions. QuadriSpace provides exploded view creation tools that are simple to use when creating standard views, but have the power to create scaling and rotation animations with compound motions and complex timing.

1. The document you are working with already has an exploded view. QuadriSpace supports multiple exploded views per document. We are going to create a new one.
2. To create an exploded view, click on the Model Ribbon. From the Exploded View Group, click on the Explode View pull-down and select “New Exploded View”. You can accept the default name. This will create a new exploded view and will collapse the model back to its default state.
3. The program will enter Move Parts mode automatically. In the future, to move parts, select the Move Parts tool in the Exploded View Group.
4. In the 3D view, select a part. You can now move the part by left clicking an axis handle and dragging.
5. Now click another part and repeat step 4 until you have create a satisfactory exploded view. Hint: you can select multiple parts for a movement by holding down the CTRL KEY and clicking additional parts.
6. When done creating the exploded view, click ‘Done’ in the top right corner of the view to close the editor.
7. Now you can use the left and right arrow buttons in the Explode View Ribbon Group to the change the steps.
