Tutorial 9: Setup perfect 3D viewpoints

Use the Axonometric Panel to easily set up custom views of 3D models. Axonometric views are the primary drawing technique in technical illustration. QuadriSpace has a library of industry standard views to choose from as well as offering the user the ability to create precise, custom viewpoints.

1. Select the 3D View Ribbon, and then click on the Extended Group Properties Button in the bottom-left corner of the Viewpoint Group. This will bring up the viewpoint Panel.
2. Click on the 3D view to activate it.
3. The top rollout of the Viewpoint Panel lets you select standard viewpoints. These are the views that most CAD tools and 3D Viewers support.
4. The ‘Axonometric Views’ section allows you to select from a list of industry standard viewpoints and then pick the corner of the model to view. This gives a high-level of versatility and should match any of the viewpoint requirements a technical illustrator may have.
5. The ‘Custom Views’ rollout can be used to dial in a custom viewpoint. For example, click on the front button, then type in “15” degrees for the offset and then “30” degrees for the tilt. This is a very unique feature and is easy to use.
